Information
IRELT can be used by everyone.
Its positive qualities can benefit both competitive horses, recreational horses, and horses in hard work. During treatment, one can observe how the horses enjoy and feel good.
There are no other products utilizing this technology.
IRELT’s long-wave infrared rays penetrate deep into the horse’s musculature, unlike conventional horse solariums where the light source consists of lamps designed for raising piglets and chickens. These emit short-wave light, providing superficial warmth.
The waves from IRELT penetrate deeply, providing effective and nurturing treatment as well as a dry and glossy coat.
Infrared light
Infrared light consists of long-wave rays within a specific segment of the sun’s spectrum and is a form of light energy invisible to the human eye.
Most of the sun’s energy comes from the infrared frequency range, which is a form of radiant heat that directly heats objects without warming the surrounding air.
Humans, animals, and plants naturally absorb heat from the infrared rays.
For example, when we are in direct sunlight, we feel warm as our bodies absorb the infrared rays. If a cloud passes by and shades the sun, we immediately feel cooler, not because the outdoor temperature drops but because the cloud blocks the infrared rays from reaching us.
However, it’s essential not to confuse infrared light with UV (ultraviolet) light, which can burn and damage the skin.
Long-wave infrared rays are a form of energy that directly heats the object through a process called conversion.
Water molecules and organic substances easily absorb infrared heat energy because their resonance frequency follows the same wavelength as infrared light.
The fact that a horse’s body is 70% water is significant for the many positive effects of long-wave infrared rays on the body.
IRELT’s long-wave infrared light penetrates organic matter to a depth of 200 mm, providing a very even heating effect.
Short infrared rays used by our competitors penetrate only 0-1mm, providing superficial warmth.
Being exposed to infrared heat for extended periods is entirely safe and can never cause any harm to your skin; it is healthy and entirely harmless to living things.
Long-term infrared heat is used today, for example, in healthcare to warm newborn babies.

How does infrared light work?
IRELT emits long-wave infrared light with a peak wavelength of 1600 Nm. The specially designed high-gloss reflectors efficiently transfer light to the horse’s body without heating the surrounding air.
The long infrared waves penetrate up to 200 mm into the body’s tissues, where energy is emitted in the form of photons that cells absorb.
The energy is converted into adenosine triphosphate (ATP), which is then used to drive metabolic processes that synthesize DNA, RNA, proteins, enzymes, and other products needed to repair or regenerate cell components, promote mitosis or cell division, and restore homeostasis.
Simply put, the added energy facilitates faster recovery and healing.
On the human side, infrared heat is used today for pain relief purposes.
In healthcare, infrared light is also used to shorten the healing time for wound injuries and to prevent infections.
Newer research has found that heat activates complex neurological and metabolic processes at the cellular level that mediate the transmission of pain signals and effectively provide relief for a variety of pain conditions. Heat also leads to increased endorphin production, reducing pain.
Health benefits
1. Increases blood circulation and oxygen supply.
2. Strengthens the immune system.
3. Provides faster healing of injuries and shorter recovery time after competition and strenuous work.
4. Heals skin problems such as fungal infections and wounds faster.
5. Relieves muscle stiffness and pain.

Treatment
During treatment, IRELT is open for head movements, and the lamps are directed towards the neck muscles, while at the back, the lamps are aimed at the back of the thigh, which is a prone area for injuries.
The top two lamp rows provide effective treatment for the back and hindquarters.
The side lamps cover the outside of the shoulder and thigh.
An adjustable lamp row is also available for each of the four legs separately, from the shoulder and thigh downwards.
IRELT can be advantageously used before significant exertion to prevent injury, afterward for faster recovery/healing, and even after washing/showering to dry and for the horse’s well-being.
After intense work, the horse is treated for 40 minutes.
The next day, before turnout/light work, a 20-30 minute treatment is recommended.
During winter or cold, harsh days, daily treatment after light work is recommended, as well as before intense work/fast work, a 20-30 minute treatment.
For stiffness and inflammations, treatment with IRELT for 30-40 minutes is recommended.
For skin problems such as fungal infections and similar, treat for approximately 20-30 minutes daily.
